Abstract themes

Abstracts on all aspects of infection prevention are invited. However, research and service improvement reports in the following areas are particularly welcomed:

 

Terms and Conditions of Submission

  1. If accepted the presenting author must register to attend the conference

  2. Last date for submission is Friday 17th June 2011. An email confirmation of receipt will be sent within 24 hours.

  3. Abstract selection will consider the quality of the study and demonstration of the abstract's relevance to the conference themes.

  4. The first author should ideally be the presenting author - please note that all correspondence will be sent to the first author.

  5. Please note the number of oral presentations and posters is limited and the selection panel may suggest an abstract is accepted in the alternative presentation format.

  6. If selected for oral or poster presentation, authors are required to make their presentation available as a pdf. file for posting on the IPS Conference webpage.

  7. The winners and highly commended poster / free paper prize winners are expected to submit a short report or original paper to the Journal of Infection Prevention within 12 months of the prize being awarded.

  8. All presenting authors are asked to consider submitting their presentation for peer reviewed publication in the Journal of Infection Prevention.

  9. The first author will be notified of the decision of the selection panel by email in the first week of July 2011. The decision of the panel is final.

  10. Accepted abstracts will be reproduced in the printed and online programme.

  11. Poster presenters are required to submit a PDF of their poster in advance of conference to assist with judging.

 

 

Format of Abstracts

 

Declaration of Interest

The Infection Prevention Society must ensure balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor in its educational activities. Therefore, all speakers are expected to declare any conflict of interest relevant to the presentation being given.

 

Poster Entrants
Presented posters will be required to be published in portrait A0 (841wide x 1189 high). We will be offering a cost effective poster printing service to all poster presenters, details on this this will be communicated to accepted entrants after the judging process.

 

A prize will be awarded at the end of the Conference for the best free paper and poster presentation.
